Sometimes I feel like I'm leading a double life. A Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde of sorts. Personal Trainer at some points of the day; working out in the gym, training clients, designing nutrition plans and then when we go out to eat, all rules go out the window. There's no calorie counting, no ordering the healthiest option. It's live it to the fullest and pay for it on the treadmill the next day.

When my husband was out of town on a business trip, I took this as an opportunity to eat at places he never would. Looking for a dinner date, I put it out there on facebook hoping someone's schedule would match. A friend who I had designed a nutrition plan for emailed me saying that she would love to go out, but she is diligently sticking to her plan (and getting awesome results because of her efforts). I let her know that I had been planing on going to one of the healthiest restaurants in town and that it wouldn't set her back much at all - Tasty Harmony.

Tasty Harmony, owned by Sacha Steinhouser, is a vegetarian, somewhat vegan, wheat-free, sugarcane-free, somewhat macrobiotic, organic, local farm supporting restaurant that opened on February 3rd of 2009. Situated a bit south off the corner of Mountain and Mason, Tasty Harmony is a great addition to the Old Town dining scene. This type of restaurant may sound overwhelming or possibly off-putting to the grease-loving meat-eaters of Fort Collins (like my husband), but I assure you - it is absolutely fantastic. I like meat and grease myself and don't usually opt for a salad when out for dinner, however, I wasn't missing or wishing for meat in my meal at all this night...
