I receive emails, text messages, blog comments, facebook messages, twitter messages and phone calls on a daily basis from friends, fans and complete strangers asking me for restaurant recommendations. So, it was not an unusual situation when one of my best friends asked for a good date night spot. I didn't even think twice while emailing her my suggestions of places I've reviewed and some that I hadn't. Little did I know that I was making suggestions for myself.

My husband and I have birthdays that are just days apart. We celebrate every year with "Birthday Weekend", which is usually a huge party for the both of us. Some years are out of control, some are more mild, but they are always fun. After ten years, they opened Cafe Columbine on Laurel and then moved across the street eight years later after a business growth spurt. In 2001 they moved once again to their location on Oak Street, where hopefully they will remain for years to come...
