I spent some time at The Bean Cycle talking with Molly North of Rolling Spokes Tours yesterday, a new cycling tour company in Fort Collins. Molly and her business partner Christa Carlman take locals and visitors alike on bike tours that explore Fort Collins and the surrounding Northern Colorado communities, with a focus on education as well as exercise and entertainment. The gals are preparing for their “Kickstands and Cornstalks” tour on July 11th, a day-long cycling adventure with a focus on food (the tour includes several sunny stops to meet the farms and farmers that make local agriculture shine in Northern Colorado). The tour starts with breakfast at the Gardens on Spring Creek and ends with milk and cookies, with stops to sample more snacks along the way at Wolfmoon Farm, Grant Family Farm, Colona Community Farm, and Happy Heart Farm. With games, live music, and of course, plenty of tasty treats, you’ll forget that you’ve ridden 45 miles by the day’s end! Register for Kickstands and Cornstalks and learn more about the many other cycling opportunities Christa and Molly offer at www.rollingspokestours.com.
